Request the option instead of paying the fine
JP2 asks for a guilty or no-contest plea, a statement about prior driving-safety courses, current insurance and the applicable fee. Its instructions specify money order or cashier’s check payable to Justice of the Peace, Pct. 2, and warn not to pay the ordinary fine when requesting defensive driving.
Watch for the court’s return packet
After receiving the request, JP2 says it sends a receipt, affidavit and driving-record application. The receipt date starts the published 90-day period. Complete the course and return the court certificate, notarized affidavit and driving record within that period. Its instructions say no routine extensions are given.
Use the precinct address
Mail the request to JP2, 2241 N 1st Street, Conroe, TX 77301. That is a county justice court, separate from Conroe Municipal Court.
