Use San Antonio’s dismissal option
The city’s payment page also provides access to a driving-safety request for eligible citations. Select that option rather than paying the ordinary fine. A written request can be made before the assigned court date.
Insurance must identify you
The court asks for a valid license or qualifying military documentation, a plea and applicable court costs. Your insurance must be valid when you request the course and identify you as a driver; a commercial policy without your name does not satisfy its published instructions.
Work from the judge’s order
Standing Order 2 describes a 90-day period to complete the approved course and present the required evidence. Retain that order and confirm the driving-record, affidavit and delivery instructions with the clerk. The course fee is separate from court costs.
Official instructions and forms
Check the linked court material for changes before filing. This is a Bright Driving Safety guide, not an official court website or an individual eligibility decision.
After court approval
Ready for the course?
Bright Driving Safety is TDLR Course Provider #CP1265. The online course is $25; court costs and driving-record fees are separate. Submit your certificate and all documents required by your court on time.
